Episode 3: For the Girls Balancing Gratitude & Grief
So recently, I had two people pass away in my family, and it made me start thinking about my relationship with grief. Not only that, but I;ve been managing how weird it feels to experience gratitude in other areas of my life while holding space for loss.
For example, my husband and I got married at the end of May, so I’ve been excited about this new chapter in our lives. Plus, our son started Kindergarten last week, and he’s already learning so much. Friend, I changed my last name, it’s official…and our son is adjusting so well.
So, and I’m excited to share, I’ve been being more consistent with creating content on social media, and it’s starting to paying off. I can’t go into detail right now, but I will give you a glimpse of what’s been going on behind the scenes in the next couple of weeks.
As beautiful and exciting as these things are, grief is still very present and there’s no escaping the process, like you have to go through the process of grief. You know what grief reminds me of?
It’s like that one family member that shows up unannounced because they were in the neighborhood. Now, it’s not always
a bad thing, but the timing can feel very inconvenient, especially if you already made plans, if you know you know. You might not even be in a season of life where you’re juggling grief and gratitude, and I love that for you. But if you’re not sure how to make sense of holding both in your hands, today’s episode is especially for you.
