Is it too daring to say statement coats are one of the main characters of fall? I’m sure someone might agree that I’m biting off more than I can chew by saying that, but how many times have you seen somewhere wear a vintage fur coat and thought, “Now that’s someone who clearly knows how to create a moment? Just me? Okay, I’ll take that and stand by my original comment by my lonesome.

All cheeky questions aside, I like to think fall’s the perfect time to experiment with coat colors, shapes and textures. They have the power to breathe life into even the coziest outfit and may earn you a compliment or two. But, the most stylishly in tune people know it’s never about the compliments. Truthfully, it’s about how powerful a statement coat can make you feel.

The Leopard Coat Worth Waiting For

Would you believe me if I told you I paid less than $100 for this coat? Yes, seriously!

I was mindlessly looking for style inspo online when I came across what I think is the perfect leopard print coat. I was surprised because some people aren’t a fan of the fast fashion retailer it comes from, but I took a chance anyway. To my surprise, this coat is sturdier than I thought it would be and has an amazing fit.

I ordered a medium because I wanted to go for a slightly oversized look without feeling like my frame was being overwhelmed by fabric. I’m not against that, but I figured the print already made a statement so there wasn’t a need for another “in-your-face” element.
