Slowly Introducing Color To Wardrobe Again

I have a confession to make: I miss wearing colors and patterns. It’s like I looked up one day and noticed that my closet was full of neutrals. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I can pinpoint what was going on in my life the more I got rid of anything I deemed overly expressive.

Up until recently, I was still working at my former job and felt bogged down by the fact that years were going by without a career change in sight. The thing about my personal style is that you can usually tell what’s going on with me based on how I’m dressed.

Now that I’m learning how to reclaim my life — and time — after being confined to a desk job, I have room to just be. It makes me want to wear clothes that reflect this reconnection to myself plus it’s spring!

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to embrace this new season that feels like it’s full of change. This time last year I was trying to figure out where my writing career was headed and now I’m doing one of the things I love full-time. Since I’ve been pinching myself to see if I’m dreaming, it makes sense to kick my spring wardrobe off with something pink.

Georgia is still experiencing cold weather periodically so I reached for this pink overcoat I bought a couple of years ago. It has a bouclé texture that reminds me of the swivel chairs in our living room and has structured shoulders that help balance out its overall sweetness. Concerning the cute bag detail, that’s actually a belt from a shirtdress!

Between us, I haven’t been shopping that much so rediscovering my love for things is coming in handy!
